Douglas John Kantor, age 25, died on Sunday, June 13, at 12:01 pm at Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas, surrounded by his family, girlfriend, and close friends after suffering from a traumatic gunshot wound.
Born on November 30, 1995, in Livingston, NJ, he was the beloved son of Julia Lightner Kantor and Robert Kantor. Raised in Airmont, NY, he graduated from Suffern High School and went on to attend Michigan State University. After completing his undergraduate studies, he moved to Michigan to work in Ford Motor Company’s IT department. Just this past May, he proudly earned his master’s degree in business.
He is survived by his mother, stepfather, brother, and his girlfriend of 10 years, in addition to countless friends, extended family, and colleagues who cherished and respected him.

Passionate about cooking, sports, and exploring new experiences, he brought energy and joy to those around him. His focus and determination extended beyond his career, as he actively planned for the future and was just months away from purchasing a second home as an investment property.
Loved deeply by many, he will be remembered always and missed immensely.
